TERRACE DECKING

Why choosing the right terrace decking matters

Choosing the right terrace decking is essential — the terrace is often the main outdoor living area, the space where you dine, entertain friends or simply enjoy the sun and the view. It is permanently exposed to direct sunlight, rain, wind and temperature changes, frequently with no natural shade.

Wood, ceramic and composite are the most common materials for terrace decking — each with different characteristics, lifespans and maintenance requirements.

WHY CDECK FOR YOUR TERRACE

CDECK® composite decking: why for your terrace?

Manufactured in Portugal by IHT. Combines the appearance of natural wood with superior resistance to moisture, weathering and biological degradation. Warranty up to 25 years, estimated service life exceeding 30 years.

Installs over concrete, waterproofing or existing surfaces

No need to remove the current surface. The Quick-Fix® system installs directly over a concrete slab, existing paving or waterproof membranes — using a self-supporting structure that does not pierce the membrane.

Built for intense sun exposure

Roof terraces receive direct sunlight throughout the day. CDECK resists UV radiation without fading or degrading. For highly exposed terraces, lighter colours such as Beech Beige absorb less heat. Hollow boards allow internal ventilation, reducing heat build-up.

Efficient water drainage

Allows water to drain beneath the deck, preventing puddles on the surface. On terraces with a drainage slope, the Quick-Fix® structure follows the existing gradient.

Resistant to daily use with furniture

High resistance to abrasion and impact. Suitable for tables, chairs, sun loungers, planters and barbecues. To preserve the deck’s appearance, we recommend fitting felt pads or rubber protectors to furniture legs.

Comfortable for walking barefoot

Surface free from knots, splinters and visible screws. Pleasant to the touch. Unlike ceramic, it does not become slippery when wet and remains more comfortable in warm weather.

Simple, low maintenance

Regular cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. A pressure washer may be used at a distance of 30 cm, with a maximum pressure of 150 bar and a wide fan nozzle, always working along the length of the boards. No sanding, painting or varnishing required.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions about decking for terraces

Yes. The Quick-Fix® system allows decking to be installed over waterproof membranes without piercing them, using a self-supporting structure. This is ideal for roof terraces where the integrity of the waterproofing cannot be compromised. Where the base can be drilled (concrete slab or existing paving), the supports are fixed directly with screws. See the Technical Data Sheet for full details.

No. CDECK decking installs over the existing surface, with no demolition or removal of the current flooring. Installation is quick and clean.

Like any outdoor surface, CDECK warms up when exposed to sunlight. On terraces with no natural shade, this is more relevant. Lighter colours absorb less heat than darker ones. Hollow boards stay cooler than solid boards, as they allow internal ventilation. Compared to natural wood of a similar colour, the temperature difference to the touch is very slight and, in practice, barely noticeable. For terraces with a lot of sun exposure, light colors like Beech Beige are the most comfortable.

The cost varies depending on the range chosen, board type, base type and project complexity. Indicative prices per board start at €19.07 for the CDECK Original hollow board and €20.21 for the CDECK WUUDE. For a final price per m², including materials and installation accessories, request a personalised quote.

CDECK has high resistance to abrasion and impact, making it well suited for tables, chairs, sun loungers, planters and barbecues. To preserve the appearance of the deck, we recommend fitting felt pads or rubber protectors to furniture legs and avoiding dragging heavy or sharp objects across the boards.

Maintenance involves regular cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. A pressure washer may be used at a distance of 30 cm, with a maximum pressure of 150 bar and a wide fan nozzle, always working along the length of the boards.
