The project

This private home in Santiago do Cacém has a large outdoor area designed for relaxation. The poolside area plays a central role in the space and is used every day, making the choice of surface particularly important for both comfort and everyday use.

Swimming pool surrounded by old brick paving, in the middle of an olive garden.

The challenge

The area was originally tiled, but over time the surface had deteriorated significantly.

Material deterioration

The existing tiling was in poor condition, with numerous tiles broken, loose or missing. This created visible gaps and left the surface looking uneven and inconsistent.

Safety and everyday use

Around a swimming pool, where people are constantly walking barefoot, the condition of the surface had become a particular concern. Broken and loose tiles created an uneven surface, increasing the risk of cuts and making the area uncomfortable to walk on.

The solution

The existing tiles were completely replaced with CDECK® composite decking. The result is a continuous, safe and slip-resistant surface, well suited to a poolside area and comfortable under bare feet.

The result

A total of 54 m² of CDECK® composite decking was installed across the entire poolside area.
