At this resort on the Tróia Peninsula, south of Lisbon, nearly 1,000 m² of timber decking was replaced with CDECK® Original composite decking around the swimming pool and adjoining outdoor areas.
The Anchor Troia, formerly Aqualuz Troia, is a resort on the Tróia Peninsula, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Arrábida mountains, south of Lisbon. It offers fully equipped apartments and studios across two buildings, Sea and River, designed for flexible short- and medium-term stays. With direct access to the beach and the marina nearby, it combines the facilities of a resort with the independence of self-contained accommodation, including a swimming pool, spa, dining and relaxation areas.

The resort's outdoor areas, particularly around the swimming pool and relaxation spaces, were finished in natural timber. Over time, this solution began to show significant limitations.



Constant exposure to moisture, sunlight and the marine environment of the Tróia Peninsula had caused warping, loss of stability and visible deterioration of the timber.
Frequent repairs and treatments reduced the efficiency of the solution and affected the availability of outdoor areas in a resort operating continuously.
CDECK® composite decking was selected to replace nearly 1,000 m² of existing timber, providing a more durable and stable solution suited to both the marine environment and the intensive use of the resort.
The decking was installed on a self-supporting cross-braced substructure, made up of height-adjustable aluminium supports and tubes positioned directly on the existing base, with no structural work required on the slab.
One of the distinctive features of the project was the production of custom 3-metre boards, combining both available profiles — hollow and solid — within the same installation to meet the specific requirements of each area.

Since 2020, The Anchor Troia's outdoor areas have featured nearly 1,000 m² of CDECK® composite decking: a continuous, stable surface designed to withstand the marine environment and the intensive use of a resort. No disruptive maintenance work is required during operation; periodic cleaning is enough.
