The Project

Private home in Santiago do Cacém with a large outdoor leisure area, where the pool surround serves as a daily-use space and the outdoor surface plays a key role in the comfort and usability of the area.

The Challenge

This area was finished with ceramic tiles, a solution that had developed significant performance limitations over time.

Material deterioration

The existing tiles were in an advanced state of degradation, with multiple pieces cracked, loose or missing, creating visible discontinuities and a clear loss of uniformity across the surface.

Safety and usability

As a pool area where barefoot circulation is constant, the condition of the surface was particularly critical. The uneven finish, with broken and detached tiles, created a risk of cuts and discomfort underfoot, compromising the safety of the space.

The Solution

The solution involved replacing the existing surface entirely with CDECK® composite decking. The works created a continuous, safe and anti-slip surface, suited to pool areas and comfortable for barefoot use.
